Tom Aiken is the founder and managing partner of Cedarwood Partners LLC, delivering financial leadership and business advisory services to middle market and emerging growth companies. In addition, Tom has more than 30 years of financial experience as a CFO of public and venture-backed companies.
As a consultant, Tom provides clients with such services as developing strategic plans, budgets, financial policies, procedures and internal controls; providing interim support of accounting and finance organizations; directing pre-audit and audit preparation, systems implementation and refinancing projects. Tom has also assisted in IPO preparation, SEC filings, investor due diligence, raising capital, liaison with banks and investors, and financial and operational assessments. Additionally, he has been involved in turnarounds.
Industries that Tom has served include software, manufacturing, nonprofit, medical devices, cleantech, social media, and telecommunications.
Tom’s corporate experience includes international mergers and acquisitions, debt and equity creation, IPOs, treasury operations, global accounting and financial system implementations, and various Securities and Exchange Commission registrations and filings. Tom has served on boards of directors and has had responsibility for several multinational organizations.
Tom is a member of the Institute of Management Accountants. He serves on the Board of the Mental Health Association of Southeastern Pennsylvania and is chair of the Governance Committee and member of the Finance Committee. Tom is also a member of the Board of the Entrepreneurs’ Forum of Greater Philadelphia. In 2015, Tom was nominated to the New Jersey Technology Council CFO Hall of Fame. Previously, Tom served as the Vice Chairman of the Board and Chair of the Audit Committee of the Greater Philadelphia Senior Executive Group. He has served as a member of the Advisory Board of the Mid-Atlantic Diamond Ventures as well as on boards and advisory boards of several public and private companies and is a subject matter expert for the CleanTech Open.
